Abdominal etching, sometimes referred to as “six-pack surgery”, can assist in achieving a six pack. With targeted liposuction, stubborn fat can be removed in a pattern that aims to emphasize the shape of the abdominal muscles. If you have minimal body fat, a stable weight and maintain a healthy diet, you may be eligible for abdominal etching.

Usually if there is excess or sagging skin that needs to be removed, then a tummy tuck is the correct procedure. Liposuction focuses on targeted fat removal to contour the body’s shape but does not remove any excess skin. It is often recommended to combine both liposuction and a tummy tuck for optimal aesthetic results.

There are certain situations in which OHIP does cover gynecomastia surgery.
Adolescent gynecomastia which has been sustained for 2 years as the result of hormonal imbalance may be covered by OHIP.
Gynecomastia secondary to endocrine disease, genetic disorders or chemotherapy may be covered by OHIP.
Pseudogynecomastia as a result of massive weight gain / loss is not covered by OHIP. Liposuction is not covered by OHIP.
We currently do not offer OHIP-covered gynecomastia surgeries at Valespring.
-
The majority of cases of gynecomastia in adolescent males resolve by age 20. Beyond that, gynecomastia is unlikely to resolve without surgical assistance. If your gynecomastia is related to a particular prescription drug, changing that medication (under the direction of a physician) may improve your gynecomastia. Similarly, reducing alcohol, marijuana and anabolic steroid use may also help gynecomastia to resolve.

Yes. Liposuction is a popular procedure for men who want to eliminate fat around the abdomen. It is important to understand that liposuction is focused on body contouring and should not explicitly be used for weight loss.

It will take around 6 weeks to fully recover from your eyelid surgery. Most patients are ready to go out in public and return to work within two weeks, and bruising and swelling will have largely subsided by then.
-
The arms are likely to feel swollen, tight and sore for the first few weeks after surgery. Mild bruising is also likely during this period. It will typically take another 2 to 4 weeks of recovery before exercises involving the arms can be done. Final results typically become apparent after 6-12 months.
-
Maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle will help promote long-lasting results. Inevitably, age or other factors may cause the arms or thighs to change shape over time. A subsequent surgery may be recommended if a patient wishes to improve recurrent arm or thigh laxity, but this is rarely necessary.
-
Skin scars from abdominal etching are typically hidden fairly well and are very small and barely noticeable. All surgeries will leave scars, but they will also tend to fade over time. This can depend on many factors, including genetics, age and ethnicity.

Botox® is temporary and will usually last 3 to 6 months.
-
A patient must be at least 18 years old to receive Botox® treatment. Men seeking Botox® treatment usually start when they are in their 40s. It is becoming increasingly more common for men to start Botox at an earlier age (in their 20s or 30s) in order to prevent wrinkle formation.
